STERILITE
STERLING
TARNISH-RESISTANT STERLING
(patented)
Sterilite sterling silver is a tarnish-resistant
sterling with properties that include no fire scale, a bright white
appearance when first broken out after casting and a surface finish
that is far tighter and more lustrous than that of traditional sterling.
And there is a BRAND NEW Sterilite that has properties
greater than those of past Sterilites and that of any of the competition.
Welcome the #250-B with all the great properties of a Sterilite….but
with increased “as cast” hardness and heat-treatability
that can only be described as outstanding.
Consequently, the surface finish outshines every tarnish
resistant Sterling on the market by far. Its castability is terrific
and regeneration of old metal is no problem.
The hardness of the #250-B “as cast” is
around the hardness of regular sterling. Our Rockwell tests indicate
a hardness of 60 to 62 R15T as cast for the #250-B. We test regular
sterling on that scale at between 58-60 R15T.
After heat treating the metals for 2 hours at 700*F
and air cooling, we get a reading of 75 R15T for the #250-B
and a reading of 68 R15T for regular sterling. Significant.
Tarnish Resistance with the #250-B is superior to
any metal of it’s kind on the market today. It has 3 to 4
times greater tarnish resistance than traditional sterling. That
can mean 1 year to up to 2 years looking great. No other metal has
all these attributes combined in one great sterling.
And our stock of mainstay Sterilites have had new
upgrades as well. The #319-B, the #219, the #219-B, the #150 and
the #270 have all been upgraded in quality for casting and in their
hardness numbers.
